Optimal Design and Simulation for PID Controller Using Fractional-Order Fish Migration Optimization Algorithm

Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is one of the most classical controllers, which has a good performance in industrial applications. The traditional PID parameter tuning relies on experience, however, intelligent algorithm used to optimize controller, makes it more convenient. Fish Migration Optimization (FMO) an excellent that mimics swim and migration behaviors fish biology. Especially, formulas for optimization were obtained from biologists. However, effect FMO control not prominent, since easy skip optimal solution with integer-order velocity. In order improve FMO, Fractional-Order (FOFMO) proposed based fractional calculus (FC) theory. FOFMO, velocity position are updated fractional-order forms. addition, fishes should back conducive survival. Therefore, new strategy global best generate positions offsprings proposed. experiments performed benchmark functions controller. results show FOFMO superior original tuned by robust better than other contrast algorithms.
